A typical treatment will average about 45 minutes. Larger yards may take longer to treat. Each treatment will generally be at optimal effectiveness for the first 4 weeks. It has been shown to be effective for up to 8 weeks however between the 4 to 6 week mark is generally when you may start noticing the insects making their return.

We may also spray the grass to if you’ve asked us to treat a flea problem.

As you might imagine, a mosquito or biting midge from a neighbouring property could wander into your yard and bite you before coming into contact or resting on treated foliage. However, you will find that the presence of mosquitoes and biting midge is enormously reduced. As well as Fleas and ticks and spiders.
Our standard treatment primarily targets mosquitoes and biting midge, but is also effective at reducing the number of ticks and Fleas in the yard. Our main barrier spray products use synthetic forms of pyrethrins called pyrethroids. Pyrethrins are the natural byproduct from flowers. Synthetic pyrethroids have a similar chemical structure as the pyrethrins, and has been developed for agricultural application for orchids and crop pests. The product itself water-based, mixed in water and will not harm plants. Once dry it is nontoxic to humans and animals however it can be toxic to some aquatic life such as fish in ponds or aquariums. Your technician is trained to avoid any area that may contain aquatic life.

As long as your yard has had adequate time to dry after the application of your treatment (approx. 12-24 hours, rain should not impact the effectiveness of your service. However, if you are not completely satisfied with the effectiveness of our barrier treatment services, we will return to your yard to re-spray your property (within 14 days) until your next scheduled service.
We do keep an eye on the weather at all times, so if heavy rain is predicted on the same day as your treatment, we will generally reschedule for a more suitable day.

After a residual barrier treatment, you need to ensure that the product has completely dried before going outside. We recommend a minimum of 30 minutes. Once the product has completely dried, you and your family may safely enjoy the outdoor area.
